thanks, the glass and melon was really challenging, with transparency and distortion and reflection! The chair wasn’t finished, there was a pumpkin and a plant in a basket and a shiny silver coffee pot, scraped them all off again! But really good to challenge myself because I don’t really do figurative works, ans so have got out of the habit of REALLY looking hard at the subject. Quite exhausting!
For sure! But I’d say these works are off to a good start Liz! All the best in your travels. Will you be checking in with blog world while you’re away?
thanks again. I’ll check in on my blog if I can do it on my phone. I expect it will be mostly photos of views etc, although I am taking some small gessoed pieces of canvas and some oilbars with me. I’ll have to see how I get on. So excited, I’ve got butterflies – 4 flights on Wed /thur: donegal-dublin – dubai – kathmandu!
How cool! Sounds like an amazing journey. Safe travels and I hope it is thoroughly enjoyable!

no, Ian, WordPress seems really simple, you just choose a theme (this one is ‘Splendido’) Your posts can be just one photo with no edges etc. I have only just started adding side bars and things as I see them on other peoples blogs. Just build it up as you go along. I’m hooked!
I love the bright colors. The composition on both is really attractive.

Hi Liz,
I like the chair painting. And the blog format wordpress site. Is it complex to set up ?
Ian
