Cold Wax Medium is a pre-prepared product (I use Gamblin and buy on line) made of beeswax and solvent. It is mixed 50:50 with oil paint for applying in many layers, with squeegee/ spatulas/ rollers/ palette knife on board. It’s advantages are layering and quick drying. I also use it on canvas but in a much lower proportion (about 30% cwm to 70%oil)
There is a wonderful new book written by Rebecca Crowell and Jerry McLaughlin just being published and available to order on line early next year (I am delighted to be included!) With techniques and ideas. Called ‘Cold Wax Book’ @coldwaxbook
Oh these are wonderful, the colours are mouthwatering, such a visual delight.
Thanks very much ☺
I’m intrigued by your use of materials, I’m wondering how you use cold wax.
