this one from yesterday looks like this today
and this one like this
eyes inward
oil and cold wax on panel 80cm square
sold
new abstract just finished
the last marks made were the loopy yellow oblongs and circles which bring the forms together I think
You can see the rough plastered stone wall off my studio too. Time to bring all my work inside as these walls soak up the damp like a sponge and all my canvases go mouldy!
Studio shot this morning (Tuesday 16th September 2014)
4 new panels painted together in oil and cold wax medium
Inspired by the purple mussels clinging to the rocks at low tide on a beach I walked last night
The two smaller panels, each 40cm square
these 3, each 80cm sq, oil and cold wax on canvas, are off to Letterkenny tomorrow for framing at Artworks
these 4 panels, each 25cm square, ‘ Making marks for Mayo’ are off to Stronach Gallery in County Mayo

this one, ‘Summer light’, mixed media on canvas board, sold in Erratic Makers, Dungloe last week
this 50 cm square panel, oil and cold wax, called ‘territories’ has gone to the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast today, where it has been shortlisted for the winter show. Fingers crossed that it gets selected!

This one, ‘ evening donegal’ was also selected for the autumn exhibition at Stronach Gallery
The show is called ‘Pretty far West, the Wild Atlantic Way’ and opens on 6th September
I’ m so delighted to be through the first hurdle
My piece ‘ territories’ has been selected by the Royal Ulster Academy
The next thing is to get it to Belfast, then apparently 1 in 4 that get this far are then chosen for exhibition
Fingers and toes firmly crossed!
This is a mixed media piece( oil and cold wax) on cradled wooden panel 50cm square
donegal dreamscape
2 works on panels, each panel 50 x 70cm
oil and cold wax
with other images showing the history of the pieces through several layers
scratched and scarred and scored through layers of being
born in donegal
landscapes of rugged terrain, wind and rain
mythical and mystical and maybe magical
