Busy preparing for my exhibition which opens on 23rd September at An Grianan Theater in Letterkenny
And trying to fit in some painting 🙂

I am delighted to be artist in residence at An Gailearai in Gweedore, Donegal
First day today, very productive
First layers laid down

Making progress with several layers building up, and the first random marks on a canvas 80 x 100cm
Early marks and layers on 2 paper pieces taped to the wall, each c. 75 x 55cm
6 of the bigger pieces as I left them at 5pm today, looking forward to going back tomorrow
I am passing the time in the gallery making small works on paper taped to a board whilst the world troops by on the way to Yeats grave

What a great start to 2015!

sizes between 16 x 12cm and 25 x 16cm
all made in November at Ballinglen Arts Foundation, County Mayo
inspired by a trip to the neolithic field walls at Ceide Fields on the North Mayo Coast
I would love to mount these together and show in a small museum, library or somewhere interested in these 5 thousand year old artifacts from a community who lived and farmed in a time before the wheel and before the metal plough
